Doom 3 BFG Edition Release Date Confirmed

Doom 3 BFG Edition finally has a release date set for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Gamers in North America can expect to see the game on October 16^th, 2012. In Europe it will release just a few days later, October 19^th.

For those of you who don’t know yet about this edition, Doom 3 BFG Edition will feature a re-mastered version of Doom 3 and the ‘Resurrection of Evil’ add-on. Improved lighting, optimized for 3D, and 5.1 surround sound are just to name a couple of upgrades. Of course you can expect to see, Achievements and Trophies to fill your bragging needs. A new checkpoint save system will be added to the game, along with a new armor-mounted flashlight.

The controls have been also re-mastered a bit to work well with the consoles. As someone who played the original Doom on the PC, I have yet to see if I would like Doom on a console or not. I sort of liked that clunky panic feel of the controls, although that could just be my nostalgia talking
