Diablo III Release Date Announced

Diablo III is scheduled to be released May 15th, 2012, with the digital pre-sales now available.  It has been 15 years since the release of the original, Diablo and 12 years since Diablo II.

Though it is always hard to know for certain what the final product is going to be like, especially with the requirement to always be online while you play, there are a few things we know.

Classes include : Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Witch Doctor, and Wizard.

You can also recruit followers to help you on your journey which can be a choice between an Enchantress, Scoundrel, and a Templar.

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking about a combo of being a Wizard with a Templar follower, if possible.  One can’t go wrong with one of your first skills being a Magic Missile, to then later pair it up with a healer.

For those of you who play World of Warcraft, if you purchase an Annual Pass you can acquire a free copy of Diablo III.  It’s a decent deal if you actually still play World of Warcraft.  As for me, I don’t see myself buying an Annual Pass for Diablo III.  A retail copy will go for $59.99 and the Collector’s Edition will be $99.99.

If you are a die hard Diablo III fan, the Collector’s Edition doesn’t seem like a bad deal for an extra $40.  You will receive:

  1. Behind the Scenes DVD
  2. Collector’s Edition Soundtrack
  3. The Art of Diablo III
  4. The Game
  5. Diablo Skull and a 4gb USB Soulstone
  6. World of Warcraft in game, Pet Fetish Shaman
  7. Diablo III Aesthetic Artifact
