Capcom Announces a New IP : Remember Me

Today, (August 14th 2012) Capcom announces a new IP named, Remember Me. Remember Me is a third person action adventure game.

Remember Me is planned to be released around May 2013 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It is developed by Paris based DONTNOD Entertainment and to be published by Capcom who also publishes Devil May Cry and Resident Evil games.

Two things come to mind when seeing this announcement. First, I am always interested in a game with a supposed strong female lead. I say supposed, because I really haven’t seen any strong female leads shine out in awhile.

Remember Me will feature, Nilin, an elite hunter with an erased memory. However, she also has the ability to erase other people’s memories. I could see a lot being done with this concept, so let’s hope it holds strong when it is actually released. Will she have any inner struggle, based on not having memories of her own, yet taking it away from others? It was a question that first came to my mind when I read the short synopsis of the game.

I am always excited to hear about new IPs, as there seems to be so many remakes, reboots, and the like.  I like seeing new stories and characters brought to the table.

Remember Me will be one to keep an eye out for in the coming months as more develops.

Though there isn’t a lot known about this title yet about Remember Me, a few fancy screens are live to be shown off.
